Different backgrounds, different personalities and different approaches to the craft. The barbers behind the chairs are what give each Urban Stylez shop its character.
The people make the shop.
Over the years, Urban Stylez has brought together barbers at different stages of the craft. Some have spent years developing their technique and building relationships with clients. Others represent a newer generation of barbering, bringing different styles, influences and ideas into the shop.
We value that individuality. Every barber doesn't need to cut the same way, have the same personality or build their clientele the same way. Part of becoming a barber is developing your own approach to the craft and your own relationship with the people who sit in your chair.
But a barbershop is still a shared space. Respect for the client, respect for the barber working beside you and pride in the shop are things we expect to carry from chair to chair.

Independence has always been part of barbering. Barbers build their own clientele, develop their own reputation and take responsibility for the work that leaves their chair.
We also believe independence and teamwork can exist in the same barbershop.
Barbers learn from each other. They share techniques, see different styles come through the shop and work alongside people with different levels of experience. When the shop is working the way it should, everybody contributes to the environment clients experience when they walk through the door.
That's the balance we continue working toward at Urban Stylez — room for each barber to build something of their own while being part of something shared.
